Dear supporters,
Sometime in late autumn, the magic number was cracked!
π΄ββοΈ Over 2,000 women and girls have got on their bikes so far – great π΄ββοΈβοΈπ
Thanks
to everyone involved who made this possible. No matter where the women
were born, it was largely implemented on a voluntary basis. Because
cycling is a human right. Everywhere.
Therefore, it is of course
completely unimportant to us whether they have a refugee background or
not. We can’t emphasise this often enough. Because we now get more hate
comments in response to our posts and appeals for donations than we do
euros. Sad, but true. Even if it certainly came via bots. We have to
swallow hard.
Further support is welcome. Every donation helps to create visible change.
It
often occurs to us that if you can’t stop the fascists sufficiently,
then at least you have to be faster than them! That’s a lot easier with a
bike.
So be loud, be visible and look out for each other. Taking a stand is more important than ever.
We are not letting this put us off, we sat down together over the holidays and nibbled on a biscuit or two. Because our current funding is now coming to an end and there are no commitments for new projects after the end of the coalition. So we are letting our minds wander into the future and taking a (well-deserved) winter break for the first time in our 9 years of project work. π

Further support is always welcome. Every donation helps to create visible change. The days are already getting longer again.
It
often occurs to us that if you can’t stop the fascists enough, then at
least you have to be faster than them! That’s a lot easier with a bike.

So far, be loud, be visible and look out for each other. Taking a stand is more important than ever.
I wish you all a good start to the new year, the best of health and always enough air in your tyres.
Best wishes from Annette and the whole #BIKEYGEES team π
